The surface treatment is applied on an old roadway or as a cost-efficient rehabilitation solution. Chip seals are applied on rural roads as well as suburban roads with low traffic volume. Clearly formed bitumen emulsions and aggregates are required to achieve desired performance.

Rapid setting bitumen emulsion is available in two types. Both are designed to set rapidly; one with low viscosity and the latter with high viscosity. Rapid setting bitumen emulsion breaks down within a flick of time as it comes in contact with the aggregate. It clears all lines and scraps on the road. Rough road surfaces need more tack coat application.
